This world-class, specialist medical and surgical dermatologist client wanted to create a new and vibrant skin treatment centre in Bethlehem, Tauranga. A high-profile property was purchased and totally revamped inside and out to create a purpose-designed clinic that was warm and inviting to clients, that displayed their care and compassion yet professional and pleasant.

Our client wanted a clinic that displayed the utmost and highest regard for cleanliness and hygiene yet didn’t appear institutional or hospital-like. The image was to present an atmosphere that will sooth and relax clients whilst keeping strict hygiene requirements.

Inside, the single level former home was totally transformed to a pared back palette of pleasant cool tones, polished concrete reception area floors and the richness and warmth of wood paneling walls.

The requirements for lighting included specialist task lighting for the complex medical procedures within the clinic rooms, soft ambient lighting for atmosphere and feature lighting that highlighted the multi-facetted building’s ceilings and layout. The result it creates is a functional, bright yet soothing environment for clients and staff alike.

Outside, the site was completely redeveloped to create ample amounts of free off-street parking for their clients. This was situated at the rear of the building and very close to the private entrance.

Entering the reception area is a lighted filled room with crisp, white vaulted ceilings, with a fireplace warming the waiting area. The waiting area, while filled with light and has plenty of natural light has privacy blinds for waiting clients’ comfort.

The clinic and consulting room display the ‘less is more’ environment that is void of clutter and visual “noise”. Clients and staff can interact here in a serene and soothing environment.
