Exceptional ICF Forever Home
Our clients, who are preparing to relocate to the Bay of Plenty, had specific requirements for their new residence: a spacious, multifunctional home with elevated floor levels. To fulfill this vision, we designed a two-level dwelling utilizing Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) technology. This method delivers exceptional thermal efficiency, structural robustness, and longevity.
Tailored to accommodate two permanent residents while also welcoming extended family, the design boasts numerous bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas across both levels. Priority has been given to positioning bedrooms and living spaces to the north/northeast, allowing for breathtaking ocean views and ample sunlight. Furthermore, we’ve extended the height from ground to first floor to optimize vistas over the dunes and the ocean. Material selection was guided by a commitment to long-term durability, leading us to choose a high-quality acrylic plaster system and aluminium claddings and screening over the ICF substrate.
Given the coastal location, the durability of ICF is particularly advantageous, promising strength and resilience against the elements for generations to come.
