Our Roles

As a boutique agency, we enjoy a flat company structure led by Andre Laurent (Managing Director) who started Creative Space in 2003.  Therefore, while there are currently three identifiable roles in our agency, we also all work cohesively together when required on any given project.

Senior Consultants

This role primarily involves meeting with clients to identify their needs, clearly detail the scope of the project and present a comprehensive proposal of the Creative Space recommendations.  Senior consultants also assist other team members with technical issues and work to add engineering value to projects.  Due to the high level nature of this role, in terms of growing business for our agency, our senior consultants have a well-established and solid background in architectural design.

This role is pivotal to ensuring we continue to present great design ideas to our clients that meet our company standards.  Our designers prepare concept drawings considering design complexity, budget, construction methods, client requirements and the resulting critical junctions.  In some cases we also prepare 3D modelling for our clients, until they are completely happy with our recommendations.  All our designers have well-established and solid backgrounds in architectural design and construction plus hold the relevant qualifications to support their position.

Architectural Technicians

This role requires a high attention to detail as it is our quality detailed designs and working drawings that ensure the success of our projects.  Technicians are constantly exposed to new information regarding construction methods, detailing, weather-tight design, building science, etc.  It is our intention to further educate our staff to ensure they become the best at what they do.

Over and above these general skills and abilities, we also value experience in the building industry for the understanding it provides in construction challenges and techniques.  Most of our team have spent time “on the tools”, honing their on-site skills before moving into architectural design.
