New Concept Design - Wairoa Bungalow Renovation

This renovation project in the Wairoa Valley, Tauranga, became a complete makeover, taking the old brick home from ho hum to wow! The clients purchased the property because they liked the location but not the home or the functionality so we provided a full makeover with a new master suite, upgraded and open plan living areas, an upgraded guest suite and more.

New Concept Design - Chatham Islands Lodge

Located in the Chatham Islands this project has been an exciting look into a very remote location and the challenges associated with construction so far off the mainland.

This new proposed eco lodge is designed to accommodate visitors coming to the island.  The design replicates the local landscape with the structure made from ICF (insulated concrete form) in order to provide the most robust construction methods in an extremely harsh environment.

Knowledge Share - New Building Consent Exemptions

Building consents will no longer be needed for a number of new or expanded types of low-risk building work, like sleep-outs, sheds, carports, outdoor fireplaces and ground-mounted solar panels. These new exemptions are expected to commence at the end of August and will save building owners a lot of time and money.

However, before carrying out exempt work, it's important you follow the MBIE guidance correctly. New guidance will be issued before the new exemptions commence. If you are unsure what legislation may apply, and what the requirements are, it's best to consult a professional.
