Briefed with replacing the ground and upper level of the existing home over the remaining concrete block basement level, the expansive coastal views were also an important aspect of this renovation project. The renovated home also needed to comply with daylighting and maintain a setback to the 5m conservation zone yard, whilst ensuring epic views to the beach are maintained.
Our concept design proposal is a modern, coastal style with a new layout and a palette of natural, beachy materials giving this Mt Maunganui home a new lease on life. Particular attention was also paid to technical aspects such as load paths which simplifies the structural design in the three-storey home.
