Architect/Senior Designer/Consultant - Queenstown

As an innovative architectural design firm with offices in Tauranga and Queenstown, we have established a reputation for providing industry-leading information and high quality, detailed designs. This role is based at our newly established Queenstown studio which will soon be moving to a larger premises. THE TYPE OF TASKS YOU CAN EXPECT TO BE DOING IN THIS ROLE INCLUDE:

  • Designing new homes, alterations, additions, remedial works etc
  • Preparing preliminary design drawings and documentation to identify the design and scope of work
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and consultants on a daily basis as and when required
  • Establishing design briefs, design task lists and timeframes
  • Producing 3D imagery on rendering platforms – we will provide ArchiCAD training if required
  • Visiting site and resolving issues or problem solving
  • Directing the technical team and leading the project

THE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES WE'LL BE LOOKING FOR INCLDUE:

  • 5+ years NZ experience
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills
  • An eye for detail and a solid understanding of structural and weathertightness principles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritise and multi-task
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Knowledge/understanding of NZS:3604 and the NZ Building Code
  • Passion for the industry and a drive for success
  • Ability to liaise with clients, engineers, builders and council
